Privacy Policy

The short version

We do not store the names you look up. We do not use analytics trackers, advertising cookies or fingerprinting. The only personal data we receive is what you send through the contact form.

Name lookups

Lookups run in your browser. To answer a search, your browser downloads a small public data file for the first two letters of the name and does the calculation locally, so the full name you type is never sent to us.

The “recent lookups” feature on the home page is implemented with your browser's localStorage. That data never leaves your device; clearing your browser storage removes it permanently.

Contact form

When you use the contact form, your name, email address, topic and message are delivered to our inbox by email so we can reply. We use them only for that conversation, never sell or share them, and delete them on request. The form is not stored in a database.

Technical logs

Like virtually all websites, our hosting infrastructure may keep short-lived, rotating server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and operational purposes. These logs are not analyzed for profiling and are not linked to name lookups.

Cookies

The site sets no marketing or analytics cookies. No consent banner is required because there's nothing to consent to.

Children

The site is a general-audience informational tool. We knowingly collect no personal information from children under 13.

Your rights

If you have contacted us, you may ask us to show, correct or delete your message at any time. U.S. state privacy laws (e.g., CCPA/CPRA) grant rights we honor for all visitors regardless of location.

Changes

If our practices change, we will update this page and summarize the change at the top.
